Sevilla Say Tottenham Hotspur's Asking Price For Giovani Dos Santos Is Too High

According to Sky Sports News, Sevilla will not be renewing their interest in Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Giovani Dos Santos. Everyone's favorite bench-warmer has made seven appearance for Spurs this season, four of which have come in the Carling Cup and the Europa League, but it's clear he's still not terribly important to Harry Redknapp.

Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido told Giraldo TV: "At this moment, the club does not have the money asked for by Tottenham. The decision is clear. Giovani is not valued at €11m, as is demanded by the English. I view the deal as impossible."

Over the summer Sevilla offered €4.5 million, whereas Italian club Udinese reportedly offered €13 million. It's hard to see any scenario in which Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would accept a bid that low from any club. I expect that Udinese's bid is much more what Levy is looking for. I'm not sure where we're getting this valuation from. It has to be based purely upon international performances because he has done next to nothing for Spurs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tottenham sell Dos Santos in January and I doubt many of you would either. I'm as big of a fan as Gio as anyone, but it's clear he doesn't have much of a role to play at Spurs. If some team was willing to pay Levy's asking price I'd accept without a second thought.
