Jermaine Jenas Ruptures Achilles Tendon, Is Out For The Season

Jermaine Jenas has been the victim of quite a bit of slagging off on this blog, but he's still a Tottenham Hotspur player, he's still given us a lot of great moments, and we still care about his health. Jenas, who is on loan to Aston Villa, has ruptured his Achilles tendon and will require season-ending surgery. Brian Mechanick put up a fanshot yesterday about this, but it's now been confirmed. Jenas's injury is, in fact, bad enough that he will not return this season.

Jenas is 28 years old and has been in poor form for a couple of seasons. Some solid performances in a loan move to Aston Villa could have possibly gotten him a place back in Tottenham's 25-man squad, but more likely than not, found him a good permanent home and made Tottenham a bit of money.

Hopefully, Jenas can make a full recovery, get back to full fitness before the start of the next Premier League season, and find somewhere where he can play regular first team football. Get better, holmes.
