If you follow Tottenham Hotspur you've probably heard the name Harry Kane a few times over the last season or two. The Englishman is perhaps one of the best young prospects at Tottenham right now and if he continues to impress could be a fixture in the first team before long.

He first caught everyone's eyes after scoring 18 goals in 22 appearances with the Academy team. These performances saw him named to the first team bench on two occaisions, though he has yet to make his Spurs debut. Kane continued to impress last season while on loan at Leyton Orient scoring 5 goals in 18 appearances (most of which came as a substitute). Kane has been capped 8 times at various youth levels for England and has scored 8 goals for his country.

Kane, who turns 18 on Thursday, plays primarliy in the hole behind a central striker. He scored two goals yesterday in the Spurs XI friendly against MK Dons after already having scored two in an earlier friendly against Nottingham Forest. Kane possesses a good first touch and seems to do a good job of linking play and getting himself into position to score goals. Also, at just over six feet tall he has good strength on the ball and his aerial ability isn't too bad, though both would need to improve at the Premier League level. He's also fairly well-regarded for his dead ball skills.

Tottenham's academy has really failed to churn out a good first-team player in quite some time. I believe Ledley King and Peter Crouch are the only ones in the current squad. If Kane continues to impress it's not inconcievable that he could play a role for the club in this seasons Europa League and Carling Cup campaigns before eventually being loaned out in January.
