Finally! We're done with rumors and he said, she said. Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed via their official club website that they have signed West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker. Parker was the football journalists' players of the year last season and after months of rumors, he's finally joined the club on a permanent transfer with nothing going the other way to West Ham.
The club has unsurprisingly not released the transfer fee paid to obtain Parker, but it's a bit of a surprise that they did not confirm the number of years that Parker has signed for when they announced the signing. The transfer fee has been previously rumored to be in the neighborhood of £6m.
Obviously, Parker gives us a big boost in our midfield for depth and versatility. He's more mobile than Tom Huddlestone, a better defensive player than Luka Modric, a much better passer than Wilson Palacios (who could be sold today), and more tactically astute than Sandro.
