As everyone and their mother has read, Gareth Bale has indicated that if one of the two La Liga giants came knocking on his door, he would be very receptive to joining them. Real Madrid is the rumored side since Mourinho is a fan and the partnership that was signed when Luka left. 50 million is the speculated pricetag and the deal would most likely go down in the summer window. While Bale is the best player in the squad, I think the team would do well with the 50 million and tactically AVB (assuming he is still the manager in 6 months) could truly put a team together in his image.
1. AVB has always preferred the 4-3-3 but with the players he has in his squad now, it is very tough to play that formation. Bale could play on the left in the middle 3 but tends to shed his defensive responsibility too often to fit in that role. He could play in the front 3 but he is most effective with space in front of him, collecting the ball deep and making those 40-50 yard runs. AVB would love to employ his preferred system but Bale and Lennon are not perfect fits therefore he resists. Selling Bale would let him truly implement his style.
2. 50 million could buy some serious impact players. Joao Moutinho or Christian Eriksen, a striker such as Lewandowski, Huntelaar, Leandro and long time AVB favorite Willian could all be had for around 60 or 65 million pounds. Turning Bale and other squad players such as Dawson, Gomes, Danny Rose into truly class players would go a long way to improve the overall quality of the squad
3. A midfield of Dembele, Moutinho/Eriksen and Sandro is extremely attractive and provides creativity and grit. Add Scott Parker, Tom Carroll and Gylfi for depth and you've got a squad capable of playing a lot of games without getting worn down.

Dembele Christian Eriksen Sandro
Defoe/Dempsey Lewandowski Willian
Again, not saying this is going to happen but its nice to think what we could do with a serious amount of cash and how we could rebound even stronger if we lose our top player
