Positive news coming out of the England National Team camp ahead of the Euros for the Tottenham Hotspur contingent of Scott Parker and Jermain Defoe. With England's first friendly of this pre-Euros season looming against Norway on Saturday, the Spurs duo look to feature.
Parker, who has been battling a chronic Achilles injury, had a successful injection which seems to have helped his playing status. He was able to come through a 90 minute session and the Etihad Stadium and looks likely to play (and perhaps start) versus Norway.
As for Defoe, the combination of Wayne Rooney's upcoming suspension and an ankle injury to Danny Welbeck have left England with only two fit strikers in Andy Carroll and Defoe. Welbeck's injury would directly help Defoe's chances for playing time in the Euros, and put him in the frame for a starting opportunity. It still seems that the most likely attacking duo for England in their first two Rooney-less matches is Carroll and Gerrard, but some strong friendly performances could have Defoe's name in the starting 11 for England's first Euros match against France.
