Happy Wednesday, Spursland! Just when you thought that this week was going to continue to be day after day of nothing but pure crap Spurs-wise, we are rewarded. Today, the football gods have smiled on us. Today, we celebrate our Independence Day! k, maybe it isn't, but whatever, STOP JUDGING ME!!!
And now the "news"
Hopefully, for all parties involved, this is along the lines of a loan to buy deal. Swansea are about to break the bank by their standards on Gylif Sigurdsson so they can't really meet the amount that Dan Levy would want (billions) for Johnny Two Saints. Hopefully Gio sets the world on fire in the fall and we can do a good deal in January.
That is called a great price. It also has the added value of triggering his release clause. So while we are currently down to one out-and-out striker on the big boy squad, that could be changing. Especially since this appears on a publication that is a bit more respectable than the Mail.
What's happening around SB Nation after the jump
Robbie Keane still plays? You couldn't tell if you have been watching MLS this year.
In unrelated news, a man with a Russian accent was overheard screaming "HEY CITY LOOK HOW BIG MY WIENER IS" as he roamed the streets of London...allegedly.
Seems like the second wave of City players are realizing that the oil soaked shoppaholics are just going to keep buying shiny toys and that means that like all the old toys get discarded. I, for one, hope that Dzecko walks out and buys fish and chips for the first time tomorrow and decided that he needs this in his life, perhaps in North London.
