David Moyes Is Pretty Openly Courting Steven Pienaar

Know how the Tottenham Hotspur website is straight news, without any kind of transfer gossip? Other teams feel like running their team websites in a completely different fashion. One of those teams is Everton, who likes to blur the lines between news and gossip by posting about transfer rumors on their own website. Really.

Today -- again, on the official Everton club website, f--king seriously -- David Moyes stated pretty openly that he's trying to sign Steven Pienaar.

"We're keen and I hope in time that we will be able to conclude that deal ... I don't like talking about players at other clubs but I think the fact of the matter is that Steven has made it clear he wants to come back to Everton. By my understanding that hasn't changed. My next job hopefully in the coming weeks is to get Steven Pienaar here as well."

Okay, so Steven Pienaar wants to come back to Everton and Moyes wants to sign him. There's no secret here. But really, transfer gossip and posturing through your club website?

Also, as a reminder, Steven Pienaar allegedly kicked some guy's ass at a nightclub in South Africa a couple weeks ago and has to go to court.
