Can someone please explain to me why we went for the risky option of AVB instead of the tried and tested option of Moyes?
It seems crazy that we have overlooked a guy that has sooooo much experience in the premier league. He has experience of trying to achieve things with very little money (which should have suited Levy down to the ground) and he is so consistent it is untrue. The guy is talked about as the future manager of Manchester United so why isnt he good enough for us?
One other thing that comes to mind is that I cant remember Moyes making a bad signing. Even in the early days he spotted Tim Cahill's potential. Then he spent big on the big man Fellaini and more recently he has gotten the best out of Jelavic who many doubted could cut in the prem. I honestly cannot think of a crap signing he has made.
So why didnt Mr Levy choose Moyes? Was it about playing style? Or that Moyes would be an old fashioned manager who didnt want a DoF? Or was it that we would have had to pay compo for Moyes whereas AVB was free?
Im not saying AVB is a shite appointment but the last time we took a risk on a 'foeign' manager it went disastrously wrong. Old man Redknapp had to come to the rescue. Im wondering if Moyes will be called on to rescue us from another Levy experiment.
What do you think? Is AVB a better manager than Moyes?
