Tottenham Hotspur Loan Watch

Cartilage Free Captain's Loan Watch is back in action. The return from the International Break saw a bevy of loaned-out Tottenham Hotspur players get their first chance at new clubs.

First off let's look at Danny Rose, who started and played 72 minutes at left back for Sunderland in a 1-1 draw vs. Liverpool. After Rose's loan to the Black Cats we wondered whether the move signaled a full-time position switch for Rose. The answer seems to be yes, as Rose looks to be the starting left back for Sunderland going forward this season. The playing time and positional consistency should surely be a boon for Rose's career.

Harry Kane made his debut with Norwich this weekend, coming on for the Canaries in the 72nd minutes. Kane looked bright and created some strong chances, but his finishing was still left wanting as he failed to convert. It's a good sign that Kane is already getting league minutes, but obviously he will need to be more productive.

David Bentley got his first minutes in Mother Russia as he went 90 minutes with FC Rostov in a 1-0 win over Dynamo Moscow. Bentley started on the right, and all reviews seem to have him looking good.

Massimo Luongo was given his first substitute appearance for the season as he came on in 72nd minute for Ipswich Town in a 2-0 loss to Middlesborough. Luongo had started the previous five games for Ipswich, so let's hope Luongo's demotion was only temporary.

Disappointingly, neither John Bostock or Ryan Fredericks made the benches for their League One matches with Swindon Town and Brentford respectively. Worrying signs.
