Tottenham Hotspur will be without Jan Vertonghen and Paulinho when they take on Anzhi on Thursday in Europa League action, but there is no need to worry. Both players have been left in London to rest, not because of any injury, and there is no reason to believe they won't both be in the team when Spurs take on West Ham over the weekend.
As expected, Danny Rose will also miss the match, but the team does have some good news on the left back, saying that he is in contention to play on Sunday. Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue are also set to miss the match, but the fact that the team finds their absences worth mentioning now as opposed to relying on us assuming they are out may be a hint that they are close to making a comeback.
Emmanuel Adebayor is also not going to play. Surprise!
While the club provided all of the above information, the Express has Spurs' complete squad for the Anzhi clash:
Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris, Brad Friedel, Jordan Archer
Defenders: Kyle Walker, Kyle Naughton, Zeki Fryers, Vlad Chiriches, Michael Dawson, Younes Kaboul
Midfielders: Sandro, Moussa Dembele, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lewis Holtby, Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen, Andros Townsend, Nacer Chadli
Forwards: Roberto Soldado, Harry Kane, Jermain Defoe.
