Why cant Adebayor get on a plane?

Enigmatic character - one the one hand a head-stamping, dressing-room disrupting mercenary, on the other a cheery philanthrope and football genius who just wants to be loved.

He had a good-ish time at AFCON, scoring and relishing the importance of captaincy. At times he was Christlike, hammering Dider Six (relative of Human Centipede director? What a bloodstream if so) and taking it upon himself to drag Togo and the whole continent to new levels of professionalism.

Presumably still feeling that vibe, and a bit of 'I'm not going home that party was so cool and you're all my best mates', he apparently promised to fly everyone home. One up on the regular sort of lift, and two up from offering to call someone a cab. I can't find out if any other Europe-based Togolese players made it home yet but suspect that wherever they are has a DJ.

But Adebayor has a great job, an adoring fan base and a chance to be the main man. By rights he should be champing at the bit to get cracking more than 24 hours ahead of massive game v barcodes. I worry that he has caught a more severe case of Benny-itis and doesn't actually want to play that much. He's proved his ability to get on planes in the past, so why is he not studying DVDs of Tim Krul's weaknesses and screaming motivational slogans at himself in Enfield? And does he need lots of psychologists to massage his brain?
