Today, the Premier League announced that tickets for the Barclays Asia Trophy are going on sale tomorrow and also confirmed the teams that will be participating in the Hong Kong based tournament. The tournament will feature Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Sunderland, and 2012/13 Hong Kong First Division champions South China FC.
Tottenham will play Sunderland in the opening fixture of the tournament on July 24, with City and South China facing each other later that day. The winners from that round will play each other on July 27 for the trophy. Ticket information can be found by clicking here.
This is the first confirmed fixture for the Tottenham pre-season. Given the date of the tournament, I would imagine that Spurs will play a couple of fixtures in England against lower league opposition before heading to Hong Kong. Rumors persist that Spurs will follow up the trip to Hong Kong with a visit to New Zealand to play Wellington Phoenix. More information about Spurs' pre-season should be forthcoming.
