A few days ago I wrote this on the Top 45 Strikers In The PL. It shows some interesting comparisons between players at different clubs and players by age decline.
Anyway, here are Tottenham's 2012/13 Numbers. I included Dempsey fro obvious reasons.
|Team||Age||Player||Goals p90||Assists p90||Shots p90||SoT p90||ToP%||Scoring%||Shot Acc%||Off %|
Age was determined by age on January 1st of the relevant season.
Bale Way above League Ave in most categories. SoT, Time on Pitch and Goals per 90 are the standouts. Bale was durable and despite knocks about his shooting accuracy, Bale has a number well clear of League Average.
Defoe Above league average in most categories despite his age determining that he is in decline. Shooting accuracy is sub-par.
Adebayor An below par season. Adebayor only exceeds the league average in a single category and that is shot accuracy. Below par in shots, SoT and Goals per 90.
Dempsey Rumored to be transfer listed, Dempsey played a little deeper and wider than a striker usually does but still posted better than league average Assists, shots and SoT per 90. Dempsey's shooting accuracy was poor - probably due to his shot locations and poor shot discipline. May be the right time to sell considering age and any fee that may come back for the player.
