Anyone who thinks our Welsh Wonder, Gareth Bale, will not be off to Madrid in the next year or two, is severely deluded or knows as much about the game as your average Man U fan down the pub (you know the ones, buy all the merchandise but doesn't know their Paul McGrath's from their Denis Law's).
Sadly, our Weezus has made it clear that at some point in the future he would like to play abroad, and his preferred destination appears to be those lovely people who wear the white of Madrid. Regardless of whether we qualify for the Champions League, its happening.
This now begs the question, right now who would you plausibly want/see as our Bale replacement?
I am of the opinion that we don't need to replace him more like-for-like, as we can we simply transition our tactics with a different style of player/players, and perhaps make the overall team better with the money Bale's transfer will generate.
I understand that there is a lot to consider here, and given the irritation caused during the 'Modric Replacement' meme, many would rather die in a fire than debate this.
Trouble is, I'm at work, I'm bored, and would be interested to know anyone's opinions on this.
Of course this is all hypothetical, as we all know Weezus was born to play for Spurs and will stay a Lilywhite forever more :)
