Happy Spursday, Spursland! Today, Tottenham Hotspur take on Colchester United in their second first team preseason friendly of the summer. This is Spurs' last friendly before they head to Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy. In our first friendly, we drew another League One team, Swindon, 1-1.
That game featured a few Under-21 players who we're unlikely to see play extended minutes today. Jon Obika, Kevin Stewart, Laste Dombaxe, Christian Ceballos, Shaq Coulthirst and Adam Smith all played in that game. Nabil Bentaleb and Tom Carroll did not. Dombaxe and Coulthirst are on the bench. Here's our lineup.
Spurs team Vs Colchester: Friedel; Walker; Dawson; Vertonghen; Rose; Huddlestone; Sigurdsson; Carroll; Townsend; Falque; Adebayor.— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) July 19, 2013
Spurs subs: Lloris; Naughton; Fryers; Caulker; Assou-Ekotto; Parker; Dombaxe; Bentaleb; Coulthirst; Kane; Defoe; Vigouroux.— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) July 19, 2013
Colchester will probably drop theirs soon and that will get edited in here.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. local, 2 p.m. ET. I am unaware of the presence of any legal video or television feeds. Because there are no legal ones, there probably aren't any 'alternative' ones either. If you find one of that variety, please do not post one in the comments. I haven't found a definitive radio listing, but we'll be checking on BBC Radio Essex and BBC London 94.9, who regularly broadcast games. We'll update this post if there's a legal radio feed.
Chat away, friends.
