According to Joe Bernstein at the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have recalled midfielder Jake Livermore ahead of their game against Hull City this weekend. Hull had hoped to sign Livermore on a permanent transfer, but Tim Sherwood, Franco Baldini and co. apparently have other plans for him.
Livermore, who struggled in limited opportunities under Andre Villas-Boas, has shined for Steve Bruce at Hull, striking up a partnership with former Spurs teammate Tom Huddlestone. He's spent most of his time as a very active and fairly defensive-minded midfielder in a three-man midfield, protecting Huddlestone and allowing Sone Aluko to get forward.
Unsurprisingly, Livermore liked playing first team football and indicated that he'd be happy to stay at Hull.
‘I've been happy playing my football with Hull and if the two clubs could sort something out I'd be more than happy to look at it.'
