Tottenham Hotspur took a long time to score on Thursday, but they're headed back to White Hart Lane in great shape for the second leg of their Europa League playoff against AEL. The hosts scored early on, but Spurs netted twice in the second half to steal a 2-1 win.
The biggest event of the first half for Spurs was a great chance and big miss for Roberto Soldado. Not too long after that, Adrián Sardinero scored to put AEL ahead.
Mauricio Pochettino made three substitutions before the 72 minute mark, but his final change seemed to have the biggest impact. Two minutes after coming on, Erik Lamela provided an assist for Soldado, who hit a first-time volley into the back of the net for an equalizer. Six minutes after that, Harry Kane finished off a Lamela through ball to give Spurs the lead, and ultimately, the win.
Unfortunately, that's about all we know. This one wasn't on American or British TV, so our viewing options are limited. But it's great to see Lamela pick up two assists, Soldado redeem himself after an early sitter and Kane hitting the back of the net.
