"New" Fan from Seattle, Washington, USA

Hi all!

Just wanted to introduce myself as a relatively new fan from Seattle in the US. I'm an avid sports fan (mostly of baseball and American football) and have played/watched "football" since I was a kid. I'm a very hometown-y type of supporter, so it was always hard for me to become invested in a football team until we got the Sounders a few years back. Before that, I'd mostly only watch whenever the USMNT were playing.

Anyways, my path here has been a roundabout one. I love international football, but could never find a team to cling to. I have always preferred the EPL, as the style of football played there is the most pleasing to me, so I've watched plenty of EPL football over the years. That being said, I could never support ManU , Chelsea, etc., as they seemed exactly like the (entitled) teams in US that I don't much care for. (Cowboys, 49ers, Steelers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc.)

Recently however, one of your fellow supporters "recruited" me while we were discussing some American football on another blog. As you may guess, I'm a die-hard Seattle Seahawks fan, and we have a member in our FieldGulls community who is both a die-hard Seahawks fan as well as a die-hard Tottenham fan, and actually lives in London I believe.

We connected due to our last names being the same, and he went on to inform me of the similarities of the two teams, most notably about how passionate each of the two fanbases are. I have since adopted Tottenham as my favorite European team, and although I won't have much to contribute here, I will certainly be lurking and learning as much as I can.

Football is football, of course, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around the transfer windows and off the field stuff that goes along with it. Free Agency, as we call it American sports, seems quite a bit different, so I'm excited to learn about the Management side of football in the rest of the world.

I would also like to apologize in advance if I ever say soccer instead of football! I will do my absolute best to avoid doing that, as I'm sure that is an annoyance for a lot of you, but please forgive an slip-up I may have.

Thanks!
