Yedlin moved to Spurs in 2014 coming from the Seattle Sounders of MLS. After being benched for most of the year, he was sent on loan to Sunderland the next season. His loan at Sunderland didn’t go great for him at the beginning as he failed to grab much playing time. However Sam Allardyce, then the manager of Sunderland, praised Yedlin for his ability and soon he became a consistent starter.
Many thought that “Big Sam” would make a move for the American this transfer window , but those rumors halted when Allardyce took the England Manager position. Many thought that Yedlin has developed enough to be a backup fullback for Spurs this season, but it seems he really was never in Poch’s plans.
Yedlin's contract with Newcastle is for 5 years with a transfer fee reportedly around 5 million pounds. We wish him all the best at Newcastle where hopefully he can get more minutes in the championship.
