There were rumors this morning that Tottenham Hotspur were considering a bid for French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, but according to Sport Witness, who reportedly contacted his agent, that seems to be dead in the water.
Sport Witness decided to contact Morgan Schneiderlin’s agent, Pascal Boisseau, to ask him what was going on, and he made things very clear: “He’s staying in Manchester.”
Well, crap. But it was always a long-shot. Despite the fact that he’s played a whopping seven whole minutes of first-team football for United this season and that he’s clearly not favored by Jose Mourinho, United’s not likely to sell us anyone, much less someone who would be, y’know, a good fit.
Morgan would’ve been a great addition to Spurs’ midfield corps, and he was our Mousa Dembele before we knew Mousa Dembele was, well, Mousa Dembele. He’d be a great rotation option in the midfield and would give Mauricio Pochettino a number of different options on how to construct the midfield. Let’s hold out hope that Morgan stays in the doghouse and we can maybe make another approach in January.
