Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy haven't signed anyone today, but they've managed to ship another player out of town. Mexican international winger/attacking midfielder/second striker (depending on who you ask) Giovani Dos Santos has moved from Tottenham Hotspur to La Liga outfit Racing Santander for the rest of the season. A lot of people thought that Gio had a good chance of contributing to the team after an exciting 2010 World Cup and a solid preseason, but sadly, he hasn't lived up to expectations. Once again, he will be loaned out as opposed to sold. There is no report as of the current time that there is an option to purchase attached to this deal.
Racing Santander are in a relegation fight in La Liga, and since losing Sergio Canales to Real Madrid, they have had precisely zero creativity in their side. To be honest, they're absolutely terrible and a complete bore to watch. It would be stunning if Gio didn't become and integral part of their team starting this weekend. They're that atrocious. He should be among their best two or three attacking players instantly, and I suspect he will be their best player by April.
I sincerely hope that Gio can figure it out at Racing and either secure a permanent transfer or use his experience there to become a regular contributor at White Hart Lane. I'm a big fan of his, and I'm sick of seeing him rot on our bench.
