Writers Prediction League - Tottenham at Newcastle United

The Writer's Prediction League is back after a vacation last week, but our writers kept predicting as we all saw a Totttenham win, but erring on the result. This week's challenge comes in the form of an interesting QPR side. A week ago QPR knocked-off a 9-man Chelsea squad in a major upset. But form has not come in across this newly-renovated side, who had dealt with a destruction from Fulham and draw with a poor Blackburn side.

Tottenham are looking a healthier side, although the center back duo of Kaboul and Bassong look likely to start again. Aaron Lennon will be looking to make an impact after struggling since recovering from injury. As for QPR, the central midfield will be the key, as Joey Barton and Alejandro Faurlin try to establish possession. And of course, the return of Adel Taraabt to White Hart Lane will loom large.

As for our Prediction League, Ryan continues to lead while Bryan Ashlock has moved up the table to push for top spot. The rules remain, one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here's the current standings:

Name Score
Ryan 8
Ashlock 6
The Roosevelts 5
Mechanick 3
Kevin 3
Evan 3

This week's predictions after the jump:

Kevin: Screw you guys. Adel Taarabt scores my ass. 2-0 Spurs

Ashlock: Adel Taarabt will score against Spurs, but Fitz Hall and Anton Ferdinand can't stop Van der Vaart and Adebayor. 4-1 Spurs

Mechanick: Somehow Heidar Helguson doesn't terrify me for our makeshift defense. Spurs outplay QPR, but don't finish to make it a breeze. 1-0 Spurs

Ryan: Adel Taarabt scores and I punch a baby. Oh, then we score some and win. 3-1 Spurs

The Roosevelts: Spurs run riot like my students have been thanks to all the Halloween candy. 4-0 Spurs with a goal and assist from the Welshman.

Evan: Since everyone is giving bold scoring predictions, I will too. Scott Parker scores his first goal for Tottenham. 3-0 Spurs
