Since this week's loss stung in many different ways, I figured I'd pass along some news that will actually make Tottenham Hotspur fans happy. On-loan central defender Steven Caulker came back from a bad knee injury to help guide Swansea City to a 2-0 win over Fulham this weekend. Caulker suffered the injury early in the season and was out for three months, but was put right back into the starting lineup this weekend and performed well as the Swans kept a clean sheet.
We all know that the days of Ledley King and William Gallas are very much numbered. Michael Dawson is probably our best central defender, but he's dealing with a bad injury problem for the second time in two years. Younes Kaboul is wildly talented, yet inconsistent. Sebastien Bassong is very much out of the first team, though he played a decent 45 minutes against Stoke. Caulker is going to be an extremely important player for Spurs going forward, and we need him in their starting XI on a regular basis.
It's absolutely fantastic to see that Caulker has fully recovered from his injury to get right back into the Swansea first team. He's going to be first choice for Tottenham sooner rather than later.
