Tottenham Hotspur right winger Aaron Lennon was forced out of Sunday's match against Sunderland with a hamstring injury, but it wasn't exactly clear at the time how serious it was. He called to the bench immediately after pulling up lame in the first half, and it seemed pretty obvious that he'd at least be out for Thursday's clash with Chelsea. Turns out, he'll be out a bit longer than that. Lennon is believed to have torn his hamstring.
Obviously, we'll have to wait for the club and/or the BBC/Guardian to feel like this is a sure thing, but I have no reason to believe that Darren Lewis is incorrect. While I do not agree with the general editorial practices of the Mirror, many of their individual journalists are very credible.
On Monday, we will likely learn how bad of a tear it is. Lennon could be out for 2-4 weeks if it's a very mild tear or he could be out for a few months if it's really bad. In any event, he's not going to be starting in any of the next four holiday fixtures. We do not have a like for like replacement (Stevie P and Gio are not like for like). I don't know what the best solution is, and there are many possible solutions, but we can only hope Harry's got some decent ideas.
