Tottenham Hotspur is playing what I would call their second biggest game of this season on Thursday, when they host Chelsea at White Hart Lane. As most of you know, Tottenham is dealing with injury issues. Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe are confirmed out. Gareth Bale, Emmanuel Adebayor and Ledley King have been called game-time decisions. We are unlikely to know whether or not they can play until the official lineup is released 45 minutes to an hour before kickoff.
So, here is my question to you, CFC Commentariat. Who do you want to see in the starting XI in the "doomsday scenario"? If all of Lennon, Defoe, Bale, Adebayor and King are unavailable, who is your starting XI?
This question isn't quite as easy as it sounds. I suspect we're going to have a lot of VERY different answers, both in personnel and formation. And don't just give your formation and XI in the comments, but how is this team going to play? What's the strategy for containing Mata and Sturridge? What are you trying to do going forward? Are we keeping the ball or playing direct? Could this look a bit asymmetrical based on individual roles?
Fire away...
