Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Blackburn Rovers: Preview

Luka Modric has appendicitis, if you didn't know. It's kind of a giant bag of suck. Tom Huddlestone isn't back either, so we'll be starting a couple of guys who can't pass in the center of midfield by default. Additionally, Younes Kaboul is injured and out for sure while Michael Dawson is suspended. William Gallas is fighting injury, but might be fit. This likely means we're going to have Jonathan Woodgate on the bench, and maybe even in the starting lineup. For real. He's had two reserve matches, but 'Arry is confident he can start.

"Woodgate is back in my squad which is a massive gamble for me, the club and for him,'' Redknapp said. "He could start. I have got him in my mind to throw him in at the deep end.

I'll have a think about it today and see how he goes in training. He's not played a game of any significance yet but he is in my mind because he is such a fantastic player."

-Harry Redknapp

Oh Harry, you so crazy.

The good news for us is, we're playing Blackburn! Despite their recent run of form, Blackburn are a pretty average team, and they have plenty of injuries too. Weatherman McCauley forecasts a game that is slightly crappy with an 80% chance of herp derp.

If you guys didn't know, we're still without Welsh Jesus as well. Man, our lineup is going to look like a giant bag of suck. Blackburn is without Roque Santa Cruz and they just loaned out El-Hadji Diouf. In addition, Ryan Nelsen and Gael Givet have to pass fitness tests. I'm going to assume that Nelson is going to play if he can stand, because that dude is a rock. In any event, both of these lineups are pretty mediocre.

Because Blackburn are Blackburn and we don't have Modric, Huddlestone, or Welsh Jesus, I wouldn't mind seeing Harry give either van der Vaart or Lennon a rest, putting one of them on the right, and playing old school Harry-ball. That's right, direct and rigid 4-4-2 with Crouchaldinho and Jermain Defoe up top. Come on, it got us to Champions League in the first place. How bad can it be?

I'm confident in a win, even though we're totally beaten to crap...and Jermaine Jenas is going to play. It's just Blackburn, right? Right?

Ugh, trap games.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur lineup (4-4-2): Gomes / Assou-Ekotto, Bassong, Gallas, Hutton / Pienaar, Jenas, Palacios, van der Vaart / Crouch, Defoe

Predicted Blackburn Rovers lineup (4-3-3): Robinson / Olsson, Nelson, Samba, Salgado / Jones, Dunne, Pederson / Hoilett, Diouf, Kalinic

Predicted score: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Blackburn Rovers
