From the "Stupid Things That Make No Sense" files, The Guardian has a fun little rumor post this morning perpetuating speculation that Tottenham Hotspur are considering moves for right backs Micah Richards and Christian Maggio. They're very different players, with Maggio being a true wing back and Richards being a big, strong fullback who can also play in the center of defense. Basically, we're talking about a fast, stupid version of Vedran Corluka and the homeless man's right footed Gareth Bale. Yawn.

I think that Maggio and Richards are quality players who could do a job for Spurs, but £20m for Richards or £10m+ for Maggio is ridiculous. They're both slightly above average players. It's the typical Spurs rumor. "ZOMG SPURS READY TO SPEND ELEVENTY BILLION DOLLARS ON AVERAGE PLAYER LOL!"

Isn't it a little too early for this crap? It's March 1st! Can we please wait a while until we start throwing out stupid transfer rumors? It's March 1st. There's still a lot of football to be played. We're still in Champions League, we can still finish in in fourth place, and the transfer window doesn't open for a long time. It's March 1st.

Oh, and Maggio was SHOCKING yesterday against Milan.
