Harry Redknapp has confirmed that both Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart will be fit to face AC Milan in the second leg of Tottenham Hotspur's UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie. This should be a massive boost to Spurs, who have looked a bit out of sorts without their two star attackers in the lineup. The likes of Steven Pienaar and Niko Kranjcar have done a solid job filling in while Bale and VDV were absent, but those two players, while good, are not world class. To advance deep in the UEFA Champions League, world class is often what is required.

It seems reasonable to think that both players have a shot at making the bench for this weekend's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it seems very unlikely that either player will start that game. Instead, we're likely to see 4-4-2 make yet another appearance with Luka Modric and a defensive midfielder in the center, Pienaar wide left, and two strikers up top. Some short cameo appearances might do good things for the fitness of Bale and VDV heading into the mid-week match.
