This week, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's UEFA Champions League matchup against AC Milan, we're going to do things a bit differently. In this post, tonight, it's just the nuts and bolts. Wednesday, we're going to look at the matchup a little more in depth with a series of other posts.
A couple of days ago, Brian did just that with a post on the injuries and suspensions that both teams face. Milan are going to be exceptionally thin in midfield, which is good news for a Spurs team that is still missing Tom Huddlestone. Additionally, Rafael van der Vaart probably isn't 90 minutes fit. There are question marks around whether or not he will start, along with Gareth Bale.
Right now, my guess is that both players start the game on the bench, ready to make an appearance if Milan take an early 1-0 lead. I feel like I shouldn't even be considering that possibility. The Karma Police van is on its way to haul me off to karma jail or some nonsense like that.
Projected Tottenham Hotspur lineup (4-4-2): Gomes; Assou-Ekotto, Dawson, Gallas, Hutton; Pienaar, Jenas, Modric, Lennon; Defoe, Crouch
Projected AC Milan lineup (4-3-3): Abbiati; Jankulovski, Nesta, Silva, Abate; Flamini, Seedorf, Merkel; Pato, Ibrahimovic, Robinho
That's all you get for now, check back throughout the day on Wednesday for lots of update goodness.
