Tottenham Hotspur continue their race for fourth place today at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. Tottenham trail Manchester City by four points with 5 games remaining, so every point it vital. Chelsea, likewise, or on the trail of Manchester United at the top of the table. Chelsea are 6 points behind with only four games remaining and will need all 3 points today to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Tottenham are missing several key contributors in Tom Huddlestone and Benoit Assou-Ekotto but Harry Redknapp is hoping that the rest of his team can step up to the challenge today. Chelsea look set to partner Fernando Torres, who finally opened his Chelsea account last week, with Didier Drogba. The partnership has not worked well previously, but given Spurs' history of suspect defending anything is possible.
Tottenham Hotspur XI: (4-4-1-1) Gomes; Gallas, Kaboul, Dawson, Corluka; Bale, Modric, Sandro, Lennon; Van der Vaart; Pavlyuchenko.
Chelsea XI: (4-3-1-2) Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, Terry, Luiz, Essien, Mikel, Malouda, Lampard, Torres, Drogba.
SpursOfficial on Twitter has William Gallas playing left-back, which is a bit mind-blowing, but if anyone can do it it's him. 4 big strong defenders at the back for Spurs today to counter Drogba and Torres. Meanwhile, Roman Pavlyuchenko gets the start alone up top with Rafael Van der Vaart sitting in the hole behind him.
Come on you Spurs!
