William Gallas has been battling fitness issues for some time now, but it looks like he will at least travel with the team to Madrid. Tottenham Hotspur are seriously short on central defenders, so it makes sense that the team would want to bring Gallas if there was any tiny sliver of hope that he might be fit to face Real Madrid. Right now we're stuck with the central defense pairing of Michael Dawson and Sebastian Bassong, the latter of whom seems to have regressed during the last year. This is, of course, the center back pairing that was famously ripped apart by Young Boys in Bern, so I'm not too keen on seeing them during the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
The above linked Guardian article also had some information on Real Madrid's injury problems, as well as a quote from The Special One himself.
"Benzema no chance, absolutely no chance, he's not even training with us," said Mourinho. "Di María is a doubt, Marcelo is a doubt, Cristiano is a doubt. After training I will give the list. "
Encouraging, for us. There have been widespread conflicting reports on Ronaldo's fitness, and we'll update you on that sometime during the day.
