Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City: Lineups and Live Match Thread

A few weeks ago this would have been a big game for both sides, one with major Champions League implications. As it turns out this game is only important for Manchester City. Admittedly, with a victory today Tottenham Hotspur can move within three points of fourth place, but that would provide only a small glimmer of hope for a side that have played poorly of late. Manchester City, meanwhile, are coming off a loss to Everton and are hoping to avoid any tightening of the race for fourth.

Tottenham are, of course, without Gareth Bale who suffered torn ligaments in his ankle thanks to Charlie Adam. Charlie Adam is a dick. So without Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Danny Rose will be forced to reprise his role as a left back. Additionally, Spurs' keeper Huerelho Gomes is out with a "back injury" which really just means that Harry is trying to save him from any further embarassment. Meaning Carlo Cudicini gets the start in goal.

For Manchester City, Eden Dzeko gets a chance to lead the line, while Carlos Tevez has been named on the bench.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: (4-4-1-1): Cudicini; Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Rose; Lennon, Palacios, Sandro, Modric; Van der Vaart; Crouch

Manchester City XI:(4-5-1) Hart, Richards, Lescott, Kompany, Zabaleta, Milner, de Jong, Yaya, Silva, Johnson, Dzeko
