Tottenham Hotspur News: Spurs Announce Signing of Souleymane Coulibaly

Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the signing of Souleymane Coulibaly. The 16 year-old Ivorian was the big star of the recent FIFA U-17 World Cup, during which he scored 9 goals in 4 games for the Ivory Coast, including a hat-trick against Brazil and four against Denmark.

Coulibaly had previously been a part of the youth team of Italian club AC Sienna. Following his performances with the national team the player was linked with moves to the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United. He was even given the nickname "mini-Drogba", which is apt if for no other reason than the player is only 5'7".

I don't know, what if any, role Souleymane will play for the club in the upcoming season. I imagine both he and new arrival Cristian Ceballos will play with the rest of the young players during the preseason and then either be run-out in some of the cup games or sent out on loan.

If you haven't seen him play, here are some highlights from the U-17 World Cup. What do you think Spurs fans?
