Tottenham Hotspur Preseason: Spurs Vs. Orlando Pirates Preview

It's like we're in Champions League again! Today, Tuesday, Tottenham Hotspur have a pre-season game against Orlando Pirates, leaving us with a rare Tuesday night game, or afternoon in the United States. Preseason is just preseason and it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but after our terrible performance against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, it would be nice if we could get some positives out of today's game against Orlando Pirates.

I saw pictures of Luka Modric going through training exercises in full gear, so it'll be interesting if he's able to get a few minutes out there tonight. Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, and Bongani Khumalo, all of whom played little or not at all in the first game, are expected to see extensive minutes tonight. I also expect to see Harry do some rotating with his strike pairings. I really don't want to see Defoe-Keane again.

Orlando Pirates were the winners of the last edition of the South African Premier League and they have Bafana Bafana regulars Benson Mhlongo, Katlego Mashega, Lucas Twala, and Moeneeb Josephs in the team. Their defense was the best in the league and they're a team that spreads the scoring load around - not one player scored 10 goals for them in the league last season.

The game kicks off at 8:15 pm local time, 7:15 pm BST, and 2:15 pm ET. The game can be seen on Spurs TV or on ESPN in the UK. We'll have a match thread with lineups up around 30 minutes before kickoff.
