Our Best XI of The Decade now has it's four man midfield completed. Joining Michael Carrick, Gareth Bale, and Aaron Lennon is Luka Modric. The Tottenham Hotspur playmaker's passing and vision made him a shoe in for the spot. Of course, the lack of competition didn't hurt anything.
Modric has made 118 appearances for the Club since joining from Dinamo Zagreb and has more than repaid the £16.5 million pounds the club paid for him back in 2008. Modric has undergone a transformation since joining the club. He started as an advanced playmaker who many viewed as to slight to play English football. Now, he sits deeper in his playmaking role and isn't afraid to put in a tackle. Should Modric remain a Tottenham player there's no doubt in my mind that he will go down as one of the best players ever play at White Hart Lane. The problem is that it is uncertain how long the Croatian will remain with the Club.
Later this week we'll begin voting for the strikers for the Best XI squad. Lots of names out there for best striker. Get your nominations in early!
