Lass Deal Dead? Or, Why You Should Disregard Marca

If you didn't know, Marca is a paper in Spain. Marca is a very bad paper, and they make up all kinds of absolutely absurd transfer rumors. They are like the Daily Mail, Sun, or Mirror of Spanish sport. Yesterday, Managing Madrid did a post based on a Marca report that Lassana Diarra would be leaving Madrid for Spurs. Andy also linked this in the Hoddle this morning.

You'll see that the first comment is from me. I am going to quote myself because I am a narcissistic tool.

I think Lass will come to Spurs, but let's wait until a real paper reports it.

The implication there, of course, is that Marca is not a 'real paper.' By that, I do not mean that Marca does not have a professional looking website, a paid staff, and a physical paper version of their publication. What I mean is that they suck and they make things up.   

Enter every publication in the English speaking world. This morning, they all released reports with Lass saying that a deal to Tottenham is not close and that he does not think it will happen. I'm going to use ESPN's, because they were the first I saw from a somewhat reputable source.

"The information about my departure is a lie," Diarra told AS. "There is no agreement with Tottenham and I do not think there will be."

Now, it's possible that this is also total BS, but I can assure you that AS is less of a massive piece of crap than Marca. This is certainly news to all of us, and I'm sure it will have a great deal of you guys pissed off. Thoughts?
