The fixture dates have not yet been set, but Tottenham Hotspur have drawn Stoke City in the third round of the 2011 Carling Cup. A number of Premier League clubs played (and were eliminated) in second round fixtures this past week, but Spurs got a pass into the third round due to being awesome playing in European competition.

This draw isn't a terrible one and will give us a good chance to advance, but I know I'm not the only one who was hoping to draw a lower league side so that we would have a chance to give run-outs to the likes of Andros Townsend and Jake Livermore. Now, we will have to play a strong side if we want to go for the cup.

Tottenham and Stoke will likely let us know about the fixture date in the near future. The match will be played during the weekend of September 17-19.
