If you didn't know, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala was just bought by a guy who has as much money as Roman Abramovich. Like Roman, he wants to spend that money on class players to build up his new shiny toy. He's already brought in three quality Brazilian players who are now on massive wages - Roberto Carlos, Jucilei and Diego Tardelli - as well as Hungarian star Balazs Dzsudzsak from PSV Eindhoven. The latest player they're chasing is Chelsea FC left back/left midfielder Yuri Zhirkov, who they're about to drop £13m on.
According to a report from Metro, which is a stupid rag, Chelsea are considering turning around that money and tacking it onto their old Luka Modric bid, upping their bid for the Tottenham Hotspur playmaker to £38m. This would piss off Chelsea and Tottenham fans alike, with the Blues' supporters pissed that they're overpaying and the Spurs supporters claiming that it's not enough to let him go. Nobody wins!
It's not like it matters because Metro is absolute trash, but the Luka Modric transfer saga has only one potential outcome that will make Spurs and Chelsea fans happy, and that's for the bidding to stop.
