Fulham Beat Tottenham To A Striker That We Wanted, And They Didn't Pay Much

I am beyond angry. For months...actually, for well over a year, we've been bemoaning our lack of a striker. We've also wanted a player who can challenge Aaron Lennon for a place on the wing. With FC Twente's failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, they were willing to sell a relatively young star player with a knack for scoring big goals and the ability to play in multiple systems. We were reportedly interested. Harry Redknapp went to watch him play. Apparently, he came away unimpressed.

Sky Sports News is reporting that Fulham FC are signing Bryan Ruiz for £10.6m. If so, it's an incredible bargain and a sideways (at best) career move for a promising player. I'm not going to lie...I'm pissed off.

If Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy didn't think that Ruiz was someone who could considerably help this team and that the price Fulham paid was more than he was worth...wow. I'm beside myself. If Ruiz had no interest in coming to Spurs because he wanted to be the star of the show, whatever, but it's more likely that we just weren't that interested. That's concerning.
