Okay, so a whole lot of this post's premise is based on assumptions. The premise, as you probably deduced from reading the headline, is that it might be a good idea for Tottenham Hotspur to sell Luka Modric to Chelsea FC, then hijack their transfer of Raul Meireles, who they would no longer need, and purchase him from Liverpool. Here are those assumptions.
-Chelsea FC are still interested in paying a very high price for Luka Modric
-Liverpool FC are willing to sell Raul Meireles for a reasonable price
-Raul Meireles would ahve some desire to come to Tottenham Hotspur
Over at our Chelsea blog We Ain't Got No History, they've written some good stuff about Meireles. Yesterday, they had two separate posts; one on Chelsea making a bid and having it rejected, and another that was a fantastic player profile. He's a kickass player, he would fill a need, and he would be available at about half the price Chelsea are willing to bid for Modric (wild assumption).
Is this a feasible thing? Hell no, I made this up because I was bored. It's filed under the "rubbish" section for a reason. If it happened, I'd be happy about it. Please do not kill me for writing another post about why selling Luka Modric isn't bad.
