It was already rumored that Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers were discussing a deal that would see Gary Cahill move to White Hart Lane, but it's not a rumor anymore. Harry Redknapp confirmed to Sky Sports that he is interested in the central defender and that there is a chance he could be a Spur by the time the transfer window closes.

"I've always been a big admirer of Gary Cahill so we've got to wait and see really," Redknapp said. "We've got some bits and pieces to do ourselves. So we'll see how the day pans out."

Arsenal have already put in their bid for Cahill, only to have it rejected. It's no secret that Redknapp has liked Cahill for a while and was in on the Englishman in January, but no deal happened. Now it appears as if it might finally go through. We've already discussed how Cahill is a fine defender, but not the type of signing that Tottenham needs as they chase a more stable and younger central defensive pairing for Michael Dawson. Clearly Harry Redknapp disagrees.

There's still no word on how much Cahill will cost. If rumors are to be believed, Arsenal's rejected bid was only for £7 million, while Bolton values the central defender at £17 million. That's quite the gap. Nobody really believes that Bolton will hold out for £17 million, but it will certainly take more than £10 million to lock up Cahill and if Harry is to be believed (a strange thing to ever say) then Spurs value Cahill enough that they believe he is worth upwards of £10 million.
