This should have been done a couple of weeks ago, but now that Stoke City have dealt with some other business and Tottenham Hotspur have wrapped up the signing of Scott Parker, Tony Pulis has finally wrapped up the signing of Wilson Palacios for £8m, as confirmed by the official website of Tottenham Hotspur.
Stoke is also expected to wrap up the signing of Peter Crouch from Tottenham very shortly, along with Cameron Jerome from Birmingham City. Both Jerome and Crouch are confirmed to be at the training ground of Stoke to undergo medicals and sign contracts, but Tottenham, Stoke and Birmingham have not announced that either of those two deals are official.
Palacios was fantastic in his first season and a half for Tottenham, but seriously struggled last season. With Sandro emerging as a star and Scott Parker coming in, Palacios was surplus to requirements. Stoke have a couple of aging players in their midfield, and the younger, tough-tackling Palacios should make a good addition for Pulis' side.
