Obika Returns to Yeovil on Loan

Tottenham striker Jonathan Obika is returning to League 1 side Yeovil Town on loan until January 2012. This will Obika's incredible fourth stint with the club, having played their each of the three seasons before this. Obika, 20, has produced fairly well in a Yeovil kit, scoring 13 goals in 43 appearances.

The production of Obika might tempt some to dream that might be the first decent striker to come out of the Spurs academy since... Mark Falco (seriously, please name another decent striker to come out of the academy since Falco, who left Spurs in '87. Most depressing search ever).

However, Obika's inability to get much traction with anything above a midtable League 1 club should prove a major warning sign. He was supposed to be with Crystal Palace for a full season loan last season, but unimpressed so thoroughly that he was released from his loan in January.

Well, if nothing else, Obika proves that Spurs are paying their taxes--he's a complete write-off.
