Tottenham Injury Update - Rafa's Fit?

Ledley King - A Hope for the Weekend
Ledley King - A Hope for the Weekend

Harry Redknapp graced Tottenham supporters with some updates on his injury-hit squad today. Harry acknowledged Rafael van der Vaart's earlier reports to the press this week that he would be back a month early from his hamstring injury through the magic of Serbian horse placenta. Redknapp said coyly that van der Vaart could be available for Sunday's Liverpool tie.

Ledley King as always is a day-to-day hope to start, as his Saturday training session will be the proving ground to see if the Tottenham talisman is fit enough to start. After receiving the bad news that Michael Dawson is out for two months, it has become that much more essential that King is fit and able to contribute in the league.

William Gallas has returned to training In a piece of good injury news, but is not yet fit enough to be considered for an appearance this weekend.

The doubtful list for the Liverpool remains long though, marked by Aaron Lennon (groin) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle). The long-term injury list remains with with Sandro (knee), Michael Dawson (Achilles), Danny Rose (ankle), Steven Pienaar (groin) all out.
