Things are looking up in North London, coming off a week that saw Tottenham Hotspur get its first points (and win) against Wolverhampton Wanderers. But there's no rest for the weary after a tough midweek Europa League tie at PAOK. Liverpool is next, as the Reds travel to White Hart Lane.
Liverpool is coming off a shock loss at Stoke City, but the vaunted Liverpool attack may trouble a Tottenham defense that has lost Michael Dawson and has Ledley King as a continual fitness risk.
Our Writer's Prediction League went through quite a bit of change as we saw our first perfect predictions on the season. The rules are the same, one point for the right result, bonus point for perfect score. Here's the current table:
Name | Score |
Ryan | 3 |
Mechanick | 2 |
Kevin | 2 |
The Roosevelts | 2 |
Ashlock | 1 |
Evan | 1 |
This week's predictions after the jump:
Kevin: I have absolutely no faith in either of these defenses. 3-3 Draw
Ashlock: Spurs finally start to look like a top tier side. Liverpool will make it a nervous finish though. 2-1 Tottenham
Mechanick: On both sides we have sides with vaunted attacks and shaky defenses. So of course nobody will score. 0-0 Draw
Ryan: I really don't want to Liverpool because I have a lot of friends who support them and it would be embarrassing. Inspired by my desires, Spurs win 2-1 with goals from Adebayor and one of our defenders on a set piece.
The Roosevelts: 2-0 Spurs, because shameless optimism always works, or so I'm told by marginally successful people.
Evan: The Reds attack will give Spurs fits the whole match, but Tottenham gets on the scoreboard late. 3-1 Liverpool.
But most importantly, what do you think is going to happen this weekend, o wise commentariat? Leave your thoughts below and vote in the poll:
