Wigan Athletic Vs. Tottenham Hotspur: Do You Like Injuries? BOY Do We Have Injuries!

Pav is not available this weekend. I shall wipe my non-existent tears.

Happy that Rafael van der Vaart and Sandro have gotten healthy, and that William Gallas is expected to return shortly? Well, that's too bad! It sounds like Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Niko Kranjcar are slight doubts for the match, while Ledley King is a slight doubt for every match. Danny Rose and Aaron Lennon are still out. THIS SUCKS. Oh, I forgot to mention that Roman Pavlyuchenko is probably unavailable too. OH THE HORROR.

So, we could do one of many things here. We could play the kiddies. We could play guys out of position. In any event, all of the options kind of suck.

The good news is that Wigan Athletic are fairly average. They defeated Queens Park Rangers, but drew the other two promoted sides while losing comfortably to Manchester City and Everton. The match at the DW Stadium was one of our worst of last season as we were outplayed and embarrassed by an inferior team, but that can't happen two years in a row...can it?

Onto selections. Um, draw some dudes out of a hat? I haven't the slightest clue what Harry Redknapp is going to do with this team. It's entirely possible that he could elect to start Gareth Bale at left back and Kyle Walker at right back, while he plays Luka Modric at left midfield and Rafael van der Vaart at right midfield. This will probably cause things to get too congested in the middle, but...do you have any better ideas?

I suppose we could go with Andros Townsend, but he's the only one of the good youngsters who is a winger. Tom Carroll is best in the middle. Harry Kane is a forward. Ugggggggh.

With all of our injury doubts and Harry being a crazy person, this one is hard to predict. There's not a lot to talk about unless we want to get into some really abstract discussions. These are discussions that I seriously welcome in the comments below.

As for Wigan, Hugo Rodallega is injured. If we concede, I will be very, very irritated.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Wigan Athletic kicks off at 3:00 pm local, 10:00 am ET. It can be seen on FoxSoccer.tv in the USA. I'm unaware of any UK television coverage. If you have that information, please provide it below.
