It's been a short while since our writers had their hands at a prediction, thanks to the international break. But thanks to the anxiety of transfer deadline day, that break just might of been the best thing for Spurs supporters all around.
The standings in the league now stand at very even in the prediction league (rules here), as the Manchester City onslaught has Kevin, Ashlock, Ryan, The Roosevelts, and Evan at one point, while Mechanick is in dead last with zero.
Tottenham enters the weekend at a virtual must-win situation, bringing up the bottom of the table with zero points on the season. The opponent is a surprisingly strong Wolves side that has shocked the league so far in its undefeated performance. Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara will likely be itching to get one over on his old club, and new arrival Roger Johnson should bolster the Wolves defense.
Let's get to the predictions:
Kevin: A tough game where we leave it late. A draw wouldn't shock me at all. 2-1 Spurs
Ashlock: O'Hara to score a screamer for Wolves, while Spurs continue to look very average. 1-1 Draw
Mechanick: Gut check time for Tottenham. Parker shines as a Lilywhite, and Adebayor grabs a debut double. 2-0 Spurs
Ryan: My attempts at the jinx have been all kinds of fail so far so I'm abandoning it. Just straight picks. 2-0 Spurs
The Roosevelts: Scott Parker plays well enough that I can't bitch about him, but not well enough to change my mind about him. I end up hating him even more. 2-1 Spurs
Evan: New additions Emmanuel Adebayor & Scott Parker make their debut, but they still can't get Spurs out of second gear. 1-1 Draw
But most importantly, what do you think is going to happen this weekend, o wise commentariat? Leave your thoughts below and vote in the poll:
