Tottenham winger Andros Townsend will be moving to Leeds on loan, where he will have a chance to fight for a first team place.

Andros Townsend put together a solid run of games for Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League this season, and will now get the opportunity to go chase some more first team football. Like Harry Kane and Ryan Mason, who made moves to Millwall, Townsend will be going to aid a Championship side, as he goes on loan to Leeds United.

Leeds finished 7th in the Championship last season and are once again competing for a spot in the Championship promotion playoffs. At present, they're on the outside looking in while sitting in 10th place. Townsend should have a chance to compete for a first team spot, but it's anything but guaranteed.

Though Leeds appear to be completely set at one wing with Robert Snodgrass, the other starting winger spot has been a bit of a rotating door. If he's impressive in training and in some early substitute appearances, there's no reason to believe that Townsend can't grab a starting place for Leeds, based on their inconsistency and Townsend's performances for Tottenham this season.
