News out of Spurs Lodge, where Juventus loanee Iago Falqué has signed permanently with Tottenham Hotspur. Falqué had joined Spurs on season long loan in August. Terms of the permanent sale are not known at the moment. Tottenham have let know that they will know loan Falqué immediately to Southampton, currently leading the Championship in their first year in promotion for League 1.
Falqué, 21, is a Barcelona academy product who has failed to find playing time with Juventus. Since moving to Spurs on loan Falqué has earned playing time in the Europa League. Falqué has played mostly right wing in his time with Spurs, but has played left wing and attacking midfield as well in his career.
Falqué faces an interesting challenge in moving to a thriving Saints club. Falqué looks like he will fight for playing time at the Southampton right wing, where Steve De Ridder (battling groin injury), Morgan Schneiderlin (a natural defensive midfielder), and Guly (out of position) have juggled the position. It looks that Falqué will be given every chance to earn a starting position with the Saints and help in their push for a Championship title and promotion.
